We’re excited to announce that the Intercon X schedule is now available, featuring over 150 events and more on the way! A special shout out to the GMs and event/forum/meetup runners for providing this lineup and supporting the convention.
As we will be adding more larps and other events to the schedule before signups, keep an eye out for the email just before each round of signups that will be listing all new events!
Please note that this is the last (and only) email for this year (for real this time) that goes out to everyone who has ever attended Intercon. Future newsletters will only go to those registered on the Intercon X website. If you haven’t been in a while, we’d love to have you come back and larp with us!
This year, rather than first-come-first-served signups, we’re using a queue system that automatically clicks for you at signup. Now that the schedule is live, you can add games to your queue, with no need to wait! On November 6th at 7:00PM Eastern time, all queues will be processed to determine what game everyone got first. You can adjust your queue after each round of signups or just set-and-forget, per your preference. After the last round of queued signups, signup restrictions will be lifted and signing up for a game will just add you to that game or waitlist, just like previous years.
For more information on signups in general, including the queue system but also things like player buckets, please see our Signup FAQ. We also have a detailed how-to on using the queue system, including screenshots, and a suggestions page for different ways to set up your queue based on your priorities (such as “playing with a friend”, “having a single game you really want to get into”, or “fill your schedule as much as possible”).
Please remember that you will need to have a badge for the convention in order to sign up for games. More games are in the proposal pipeline and even more can be added to the schedule as signups progress (if you would like to propose a larp, please send them soon). To ensure everyone has time to get into games and adjust their preferences if desired before signups become a free-for-all, we’re adding a fifth round of signups, which will be processed earlier in the same day before restrictions are lifted.
This year's signups will be on:
If you have more questions about the signup system that aren’t addressed above, we welcome them in #signups on the Intercon Discord or emailed to signup-system-questions@x.interconlarp.org!
Everyone attending Intercon X will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to the level that they are permitted to receive in their state or country of residence. For non-USA attendees, please follow your country’s COVID vaccination and booster recommendations. Intercon has a Tracking Document for which states and provinces have the latest boosters broadly available and some information on how to get them.
You can send us updated proof by January 1, 2026 via an email to vaccination@x.interconlarp.org or by requesting a zoom session. Proof can be in the form of an updated card with the booster listed, a pdf or screenshot of your state registry, asking your pharmacy for the record, or in other official electronic form. If you have difficulty providing the above proof, please reach out to us at the above address, and we'll work with you. If the latest vaccine is not available in your state or province, email the above address with proof of the latest vaccination you did receive, verification of residence, and your choice between staying masked at all times in con spaces or taking a rapid test every morning you are in attendance at the con and emailing in the results. For full details on our policy, see our website.
No exemptions for the vaccinations will be granted, including for medical or religious reasons. Attendees joining the con after January 1 will be required to submit proof of vaccinations before they are able to purchase a badge. Walk-in attendees will not be admitted unless they have provided proof of vaccination and confirmed by the vax check team at least one week in advance, in order to ensure that all attendees are vaccinated and confirmed ahead of time. Intercon events have marked their mask policies, which include “Masks are required for all attendees”, “Masks are required for all attendees unless actively eating”, “Masks are optional but attendees are still welcome to mask”, and "Mask policy will be the strictest requested on casting surveys". Note that Thursday evening forum events held in a conference room will be required to be masked. Forum events held at other times during the con will have the option to be mask optional or mask required.
All attendees will also be required to submit proof of a negative rapid antigen or PCR COVID test, uploaded to the site within 48 hours of the convention. More information on how to do this will be given closer to the convention date. Intercon will provide testing kits at the door for those for whom this is a financial or other hardship. Have more questions and concerns? We are here for you! Please reach out by emailing us at COVIDquestions@x.interconlarp.org!
While most insurance companies are covering the costs of the COVID vaccine, in some rare cases community members in difficult financial circumstances are not able to get coverage for them. In cases of financial hardship, Intercon X can offer comps (ie. waiving the registration fee) as the budget allows, but it is limited by financial regulations in its ability to assist attendees monetarily beyond that.
We have had a couple of individuals reach out to offer to help with this cost in these rare occurrences. If you are interested in assisting with these cases as well (and feel you can do so comfortably without hardship to yourself) please email the vaccine team at vaccination@x.interconlarp.org to let us know what amount you’d be comfortable giving. If and only if further requests of this specific nature arise, and as voluntary donations allow, which we cannot guarantee, we will reach back out to potential donors with requests and instructions on how they can gift appropriate funds directly to the requestor.
Intercon is not just a place for games. Intercon is a place to discuss and learn about larp theory and social events- from workshops to meetups to midnight parties! There are several forum events and social meetups and parties listed on the schedule. Attendees are welcomed and encouraged to express interest in them by signing up (Forum and Social events do not count against your signup limits. Sign up for as many as interest you, starting now.) If you have any ideas for a panel/discussion/talk/workshop or you want to arrange con space for a public meetup or social event, you can submit them on the Intercon X event proposal page.
Now is a great time to book your hotel room for Intercon X! Once again, we’re returning to the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island. When you book your room, you can specify if you prefer a quiet or active floor, and the hotel will do their best to accommodate your requests. You can call them at (401) 732-6000 or use their website. Our group code is LAR, so remember to put that in to get the con rate and help us out; your support is especially appreciated this year! If you get a message that the room block is full, please reach out to our Hotel Liaison to let them know, as the block can likely be expanded. The Intercon group rate and blocks are valid for the Wednesday - Sunday nights! You can read about the hotel on our Hotel Info page, and check out the Hotel FAQ. If you know you’ll want a room, reserve one ASAP; the hotel has filled up in previous years!
Intercon has an official Discord! This is an excellent way to meet each other, show off your costuming, and have LARP discussions. During the con, this will also be a place for requesting player fills for games with no shows/waitlisters. As the purpose of this Discord is real-world Intercon coordination and so being able to map congoers to Discord users and vice versa is necessary, we do require that Intercon Discord users change their server profile name to unambiguously identify them, ideally the same name used on the Intercon website or your Intercon nickname (if your Intercon website profile isn't your chosen name, you are welcome to change it to be so). You can find detailed instructions on how to change your Discord Server Nickname and we have a simplified text version below:
