Communicating with GMs

As we enter the home stretch before Intercon, please remember to keep an eye on your email inbox and spam folders! Our rules require that players be responsive, so if one of your games has set a communication expectation of a pre-game survey, make sure to check for it and fill it out if you haven't already. If a GM can't reach you by email, Intercon staff might chase you down via other means; as a final recourse, totally nonresponsive players might be dropped from games now that we're in the final month before the convention, so please make sure to reply!

Volunteering Opportunities

Floating Safety staff is accepting applications!  If you’re interested in helping make Intercon safer, please fill out this form here.

Ops needs you!  Come hang out at Ops for an hour or two, or three.  We’ll be grateful for the extra hands to help make the con run, and if it’s quiet you can use the time to catch up on your character sheets.  No experience required!

You can see a full list of the events that need volunteers here.

Social & Forum Events

We have a ton of great social and forum events available at Intercon this year!  Check out our full list of social events here, including a late night bar event on Thursday for the first time! Check out our full list of forum events here, mostly on Friday but with one each on Thursday and Saturday!

Hotel Updates

The hotel recently informed us of two changes that affect our event.  First that the airwall between Salon IV and V is not in service, with no plans to fix it, and second that the Plaza Ballroom (Narragansett, Ocean, Rhode Island, Patriots) has been renovated and the rooms have been renamed to Plaza A-D.  The website has been updated with both of these changes.

As a result of the Salon changes, we’ve had to move a small number of events around to compensate.  Affected event runners have already been informed, and the website is up to date with the correct location of all events.

For the Plaza changes, we’ve updated the names of the rooms on the website, but are keeping the old names attached for this year to avoid confusion.

NEIL Update

On January 11th, the NEIL board held our annual meeting, and the Community and Board voted to elect Alison Joy as Conchair of Intercon Y, David Kapell as NEIL President 2026-7, and John Cooke as LBC Coordinator 2026.  The Community and Board also voted to adopt the COVID policy proposal that was set forward, which allows for NEIL events starting in April 2026 to accept daily testing in lieu of having the latest vaccine. Thank you to everyone who came to the meeting, sent in a proxy, and provided feedback!

Our next meeting will be as part of the Intercon Community Meeting (Calendar event, video conference TBD), which will be held online on March 15th at 2pm. The Intercon Community Meeting serves as a wrap-up for the con that has just happened, and a kickoff for the next Intercon!

We have one proposal from the community to discuss at the meeting, which is an alternate COVID policy, submitted by Cadence Schwartz, which would, if approved by the Community and Board, supersede the above one that the Community voted for at the annual meeting.

At the upcoming meeting we will also elect three new NEIL Board members for a two year term. Come make your thoughts heard, and get involved in the upcoming convention and the NEIL community at large.  If you have a proposal for the NEIL Board, feedback on the above proposal, wish to self-nominate for a NEIL Board position, or have any other questions, please contact the current NEIL President, David Kapell.

Refund Policy

To withdraw from the Con, email the ConChair and Registrar. Please note withdrawals within 30 days of the Convention are eligible for a refund or membership in next year's Con at the discretion of the ConChair of that convention.
