Hello GMs!
The preliminary schedule is going out later this week, so here’s a brief set of things to keep in mind while reviewing it, as well as a few helpful notes in advance of signups:
Schedule Visibility
The schedule is only visible to people who are set up as GMs on the website – if you have a co-GM who might want to see, make sure to add them to your game. The last GM newsletter has a guide to doing so!
Location, Location, Location
The schedule will include what room or rooms your event is taking place in. If you aren’t sure which room is which, this page has a useful layout guide for the con space, and there’s also a floor plan website the hotel uses here which can be useful for getting a sense of scale.
Age Restrictions
As mentioned in our Proposal FAQ, setting a minimum age on your game will not actively prevent users who don’t meet that requirement from signing up, but rather flag them on the GM-view of the player list. So if this happens during signups, don’t worry, the site hasn’t broken! If such a case arises and you need a player below the minimum age removed from your game, or want to clarify the status of a player with an unknown age, simply reach out to our GM coordinator.
Signup Emails
Each GM associated with a game can have individual email preferences. From the Edit GM Settings page for a particular GM (which, again, the screenshots from the last GM newsletter will show you how to reach), there is a section labeled “Receive email on signup and withdrawal” with three radio buttons: “Yes, all signup activity”, “Yes, except joining or dropping from waitlist”, and “No”. This lets those on your team who want to be up-to-the-minute informed do so while those who don’t want the emails don’t have to get them.
Thank you for your time! See you in the next GM newsletter, which will probably be after signups open!
