Hello GMs!

This, our final newsletter, will contain some last-minute tips and details.

Badges

Everyone who enters your game space must have an Intercon badge visible on them. This includes any assistants, GMs, etc. If anyone enters without one, please let the safety team know. However, during the LARP itself it is ok for players to remove their badge if needed (i.e. for safety during a boffer larp).

Masks & Signs

Signs on the rooms will indicate if the space is mask-required or mask-optional. Please flip the door sign to the appropriate side when you arrive for your game.

If your LARP is set to masks required, everyone in the space should be properly wearing them. If you have a player who is not, you can ask them to wear/put it on properly. Ops will have spare masks if anyone needs one. If you are having a problem with a player over this or are not comfortable asking them, you can ask the safety team for help by calling the number on the back of your badge.

If your LARP is set to be mask-optional, please respect everyone's individual choices and encourage your players to do so as well.

For larps still set to “strictest requested”, the list of LARPs in the room will indicate “check with GM”. Be sure to indicate the survey result with the door sign and inform your players.

On-site Support

During the convention, Ops will be your primary point of contact, and they will be able to contact more specialized staff as-needed. Examples of things they can help with include managing parlor keys, having the hotel refill water dispensers, directing you to your room, etc. They may also have extra poster putty to attach things to the walls if you forget. (Remember, no tape is allowed on the walls!)

The Safety team will also be available for safety-related issues. At the convention, they can be reached at 313-SAFETY4 (via call or text), at safety@x.interconlarp.org, or you can ask at Ops for someone to reach out for you. Safety team members will wear the safety button when they are on duty.

Post-Con Survey

Intercon will send out a post-con survey to all attendees after the convention. This tool will give each attendee a space to provide feedback for each event they were signed up for, and you'll be able to see responses for your LARPs, so encourage your players to fill it out if you want the feedback! You can of course still send out your own postgame survey if there are specific questions you want to ask, but for general feedback this may make things easier for you.

And... that's it! For the last time, I am signing off as the Outreach Coordinator in the GM newsletters. But stick around for a special thank-you from Kevin, our Intercon X conchair, for all that you do. There would be no LARP con without LARPs, and there are no LARPs without you.

Message from the Conchair

Dear GMs,

Intercon X exists because of the creativity, hard work, and spirit of you, our larp runners!  By welcoming players into your worlds, you embody the hospitality that Intercon Xenial is all about.  Please remember to be gentle with yourselves as well, and to take time to rest and enjoy each other's larps, ideas, and the community we create together.  It's an honor to help you all make magic this coming weekend, and I am so grateful for each of you.

Thank you!

Kevin
