Intercon W Schedule is Now Live!
We’re excited to announce that the Intercon W schedule is now available, featuring over a hundred events and more on the way! A special shout out to the GMs and event/forum/meetup runners for providing this lineup and supporting the convention.
As we will be adding more larps and other events to the schedule before signups, keep an eye out for the email just before each round of signups that will be listing all new events!
Please note that this is the last (and only) email for this year that goes out to everyone who has ever attended Intercon. Future newsletters will only go to those registered on the Intercon W website. If you haven’t been in a while, we’d love to have you come back and larp with us!
Signups Opening Soon!
Intercon W larp signups begin in a couple of weeks, starting on November 7th at 7:00PM Eastern time. Please remember that you will need to have a badge for the convention in order to sign up for games. More games are in the proposal pipeline and even more can be added to the schedule as signups progress (if you would like to propose a larp, please send them soon). More information on how to sign up is available in our Signup FAQ, which has been updated for Intercon W with better explanations of "No Preference" and "Flex Bucket" signups, or the Bucket System for Players video.
Please note that we have a new fourth round this year, during which you will be able to sign up for one additional game, before the open signup round happen! This new round is scheduled for the same week as the third round, so the overall signup window has not been expanded.
At this time, we will be using the same signup system as in previous years for Intercon W, with the addition of one extra round, to help reduce the importance of being present for the open signups round. The team will be paying close attention to signups this year, as we do every year, to make an informed decision about future years.
This year's signups will be on:
- Thursday, November 7nd, 7PM - One game.
- Wednesday, November 13th, 7PM - Two games total.
- Tuesday, November 19th, 7PM - Three games total.
- Thursday, November 21st, 7PM - Four games total.
- Monday, November 20th, 7PM - Registration limits removed - all the games!
COVID Safety and Policies!
Everyone attending Intercon W will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 as defined by the CDC, which now includes this fall’s newest booster that was released early-September. For non-USA attendees, please follow your country’s covid vaccination and booster recommendations. You can send us updated proof by January 1, 2024 via an email to vaccination@w.interconlarp.org or scheduled Zoom sessions (will be announced soon). Proof can be in the form of an updated card /w the booster listed, a pdf or screenshot of your state registry, asking your pharmacy for the record, or in other official electronic form. If you have difficulty providing the above proof, please reach out to us at the above address, and we'll work with you. For full details on our policy, see our website.
No exemptions for the vaccinations or boosters will be granted, including for medical or religious reasons. Attendees joining the con after January 1 will be required to submit proof of vaccinations before they are able to purchase a badge. Walk-in attendees will not be admitted unless they have provided proof of vaccination and confirmed by the vax check team at least one week in advance, in order to ensure that all attendees are vaccinated and confirmed ahead of time. Intercon events have marked their mask policies, which include either “Masks are required for all attendees”, “Masks are required for all attendees unless actively eating”, and “Masks are optional but attendees are still welcome to mask”. This year there is a new option: "Mask policy will be the strictest requested on casting surveys", which means that the GM will ask you at casting what level of masking you are comfortable with, and if any player indicates that they would prefer the game to be masked, it will be.
All attendees will also be required to submit proof of a negative rapid antigen or PCR covid test, uploaded to the site within 48 hours of the convention. More information on how to do this will be done closer to the convention date. Intercon will provide testing kits at the door for those for whom this is a financial or other hardship. More than Larps!
Intercon is not just a place for games. Intercon is a place to discuss and learn about larp theory and social events- from workshops to meetups to midnight parties! There are several forum events and social meetups and parties listed on the schedule. Attendees are welcomed and encouraged to express interest in them by signing up (Forum and Social events do not count against your signup limits. Sign up for as many as interest you, starting now.) If you have any ideas for a panel/discussion/talk/workshop or you want to arrange con space for a public meetup or social event, you can submit them on the Intercon W event proposal page.
Note that, in specific, indicating interest in the ice cream social on Sunday helps us know how much ice cream to provide for that event

Now is a great time to book your hotel room for Intercon W! Once again, we’re returning to the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island. When you book your room, you can specify if you prefer a quiet or active floor, and the hotel will do their best to accommodate your requests. You can call them at (401) 732-6000 or use their website. Our group code is LAR, so remember to put that in to get the con rate and help us out; your support is especially appreciated this year! Join us on Discord!
Intercon has an official Discord! This is an excellent way to meet each other, show off your costuming, and have LARP discussions. During the con, this will also be a place for requesting player fills for games with no shows/waitlisters. As the purpose of this Discord is real-world Intercon coordination, we do require that Intercon Discord users change their server profile name to your registered name on the Intercon website (if your Intercon website profile isn't your chosen name, you are welcome to change it to be so). You can find detailed instructions on how to change your Discord Server Nickname and we have a simplified text version below:
- If you are on the browser, desktop, or android app, navigate to the Intercon Discord. Then on the right-side bar, right-click on your own username in the Server Member List and you'll see a drop down menu appear.
- Click on the Edit Server Profile option in the drop-down. You'll see a new menu pop up where you can type in your Intercon registration name as your Server Nickname. You can then press the Save button to confirm your changes.
